Covid-19 NSW: Locally acquired cases by location and likely source of infection

This post will be regularly updated with data on the recent Covid-19 outbreak in NSW.

Last Updated: 2021-01-15

Data

Data is sourced from a table called “NSW COVID-19 cases by location and likely source of infection” which you can access via Data.NSW here

The numbers presented here for each day do not match what is reported daily during the press conference potentially due to different reporting timelines, however, the total number of cases is correct.

The data only includes locally acquired cases.

The data is most likely based on where the cases reside (e.g. home address).

Trend by Location: Northern Beaches vs. Rest of NSW

Here is the first plot, where I have put together all the cases outside Northern Beaches LGA as “Rest of NSW”.

This one is the same data, but I have presented it as share for each day.

Trend by Location: Northern Beaches vs. Rest of Greater Sydney

This plot only includes the cases in the Greater Sydney area.

And the next plot where you can see a detailed breakdown of the LGAs. You can select specific LGAs by clicking on their title in the legend.

Covid-19 Cases by Likely Source of Infection

Well, a plot that someone asked for and I am just adding it here!

I will find the right place for this plot later.
