Covid-19 tests in WA compared to previous outbreaks in Australia

This post will be regularly updated with data on the recent Covid-19 outbreak in Western Australia mapped against the earlier outbreaks.

Methodology

To produce these plots, I have mapped the current outbreaks in WA against the recent outbreaks with significant community transmission.

As a result, the x-axis in these plots does not show “Date” but instead it is the number of days since the first case of outbreak was reported. I have also added a week of observations from the period before each outbreak so you can better follow the impact of each outbreak on the trends.

You can remove a specific state from the plot by clicking on their name in the legend area. You can also save the plot as an image or download the data using the icon at the top right corner of the plot.

Covid-19 Testing Patterns

The plot shows the number of tests per 1M of population in each outbreak.
