Current CovidQLD compared to previous outbreaks in Queensland

Last Updated: 2021-07-09

Methodology

To produce these plots, I have mapped the current outbreak in QLD against the recent outbreaks in the state.

As a result, the x-axis in these plots does not show “Date” but instead it is the number of days since the first case of outbreak was reported. I have also added a week of observations from the period before each outbreak so you can better follow the impact of each outbreak on the trends.

You can remove a specific outbreak from the plot by clicking on their name in the legend area. You can also save the plot as an image or download the data using the icon at the top right corner of the plot.

Day Zero for the current outbreak in QLD is set to: 24th of June, 2021

The current outbreak in QLD has two separate components. The Alpha strain component which was first reported on the 20th of June and the Delta strain that was first reported on the 28th of June. After reviewing the data, I have used the 24th of June as the Day Zero.
